Our quilting group is making place mats to sell. What do you suggest for the filler? The mats are all cotton. Thanks for your help.

I use warm and natural wadding

I've made placemats with warm and natural. They came out beautifully.

I like Warm and Natural, as it quilts so nice and flat :D:D:D

I use whatever I have on hand as long as the loft is low.

poly is fine just as long as you have some quilting on it.

I like to use the synthetic felt that Joanns sells...very washable and has a nice, little big firmer feel than Warm & Natura. I feel they lie a little flatter also. Don't know if there is any "down" side to it but I've sold alot of them.

For place mats I like to use flannel or a heavy msuslin this way they are nice and thin so the glasses don't want to wobble ;)
There is a thin fleece batting that I have also gotten from Walmart that I have used for table runners that would also be nice... but my first choice is flannel or heavy muslin.
