Hi
My adult Son asked me to make a quilt for his Sister who is graduating HS this year. Of course I said yes, we love her Sister as our own. Anyone have a suggestion for a scrappy pattern that is rather easy but looks difficult? |
I love Bonnie Hunter's scrappy quilt patterns on http://www.quiltville.com/

How about a Log Cabin where you turn the cabins to make various designs? (BTW, I don't blame you 8-) )

You "show em" girlfriend!

Oh, I am so with you on this! Mine was the wedding dress for my step daughter.........
Make sure that it is the sister's favorite color and something that has meaning for her. Lots of easy patterns out there for free. Maybe one of you favorite patterns..... |
Reminds me of the saying " I miss my EX but my aim is getting better"!
I just found a pattern. It is called Wheel of Wonder. It was in a magazine. Has a slight curve to it, but the pattern I saved did it all using an applique technique (no sewing curves!). here is a link to what the finished quilt can look like. http://marilynpilkeyart.homestead.co...lofwonder.html It is a simple block. just has what looks like a four leaf clover on it (thus why I like it) but when all together its "wow". I haven't posted a link on here before, so this is trial and error, If anything copy and paste to go see it. |

Hope you find the perfect pattern.

I also love Bonnie Hunter's scrappy patterns, she is so good to provide them free on her site.
But I think just the fact that you care about your ex's daughter and would make her a quilt says alot about you. Certainly not terrible to want to make a great quilt for her and let your talent shine! |

Good luck with your choice of quilt pattern you choose. I am sure she will love and cherish it no matter which one you choose.

The best revenge is to do really well after he is gone. I hope you find a really great pattern, make a fabulous quilt and he turns permanently green with envy.

Your Irish Chain in your avatar is beautiful. How about a scrappy Irish Chain? I believe there is a pattern on Quiltville. And by the way, you're not terrible.

I would like to add Warm Wishes to your choice of simple patterns to consider.
http://www.quiltmaker.com/patterns/d...html?idx=5185_ I made one just to have a quilt ready to try different quilt designs on. It took less than a week from start to finish and I work full time outside the home. |
Jewel Box?

Thanks all for the suggestions. My post got edited and the part about me doing this for my ex's Daughter got cut. The post reads like I am making this for my own Daughter haha. I guess the moniter didn't like the part about my ex cheating on me. Oh well.
Anyway, I tryed to search for the disapearing 4 patch tut or some pics. but the search on this site must be down. My ex said his Daughter's fav color is purple, I will include purple in the quilt, but knowing how kids change their mind, I thought a scrap quilt might suit her in years to come. |
