Twas the last night of September,
when I couldn't Sleep. My Husband a snoring, while I count sheep. I toss and I turn as I lay there in bed, while visions of Christmas Quilts go through my head. To my stash I go, to take a peek, might as well, haven't slept for a week. I opened the tub and what did I see? My old corduroy dress, that was Christmassy. Away to the computer I flew like a flash, hit the search button to find Quilters Cache. Searched page after page to find the right block. To make a quilt, from this outdated frock. For Christmas, a star would be just right. I'll print it off and turn out the light. The next day I hurried to unpick the zipper, take out the hem of this once fine jumper. A fussy cut here and a diagonal cut there, took five long hours, but what do I care? With all the small pieces, to the machine I go, I stitch them together, and press to and fro. Many days later, my quilt is together. It should keep me warm in the cold winter weather. So if you can't sleep, and you have an old dress, get up and recycle, you'll find it costs less. old Christmas Dress/Jumper Quilt Top |

The quilt came out very nicely and your poem was great, too. I usually donate my outdated clothes, but it is a nice idea to use one of your favorites for a quilt.

Wow what a pretty quilt your jumper turned out to be..
