I inherited a good deal of poly batting and am at a loss as to what to do with it. I only use Warm & Natural normally, so this stuff has been just sitting around. Most are baby quilt size packages. Any suggestions?

I use mine in wall hangings.

donate it to a local senior center or other charity that can either use it or sell it for operating funds...you can get a tax write-off if you get a receipt and want one.

I use it in wall hangings or when I double bat. Using Warm and natural as the bottom and a thin layer of poly to get a bit more loft . Really shows of the quilting and is much warmer.
Some of the really fat batts can be seperated into two thinner battings. Just peel the layer(s) apart. I bought a roll of poly fat bat years ago . It is just too thick for any of my purposes. Low and behold ... I needed some low loft and did not feel like going out .. so I played around with the old roll of fat bat. It really came apart rather easily.
Donate to project Linus or some other cause. They can be easily combined for a larger quilt.
I am sure there are planty of quilters here who do charity quilts who would be happy to have them.

You could always donate to those who make donation quilts-I have a large project right now in which I am making quilts for all 22 of the girls who are patients on the Willows unit at my work-all are victims of sexual abuse and it is a long term program so they are away from their families for close to a year. I am always taking donations and I know there are numerous others on the board who make quilts for donations to one charity or another.

Oh I love poly batting for rag quilts. I cut it so it won't show and its wonderfull in between flannel layers. Makes my flannel rags ligth and wonderfully cosy!

polyester batting works great in kids quilts, it doesn't shrink it wears well and holds up to thousands of washings. if you do not want to use it give it to someone who will. or the downey quilts for kids programs would appreciate donations, same with project linus, your local senior center, or even a guild that works on community projects.
