Portrait Quilts

Due to death in family and other things I have not been on quilt board for months. One time there was a lady on here who was printing a book on how to do portraits on material. Does anyone remember her name? Thank you for any information. mulema

I don't know if this is the person you were thinking of, but I've made a qult portrait of my daughter, following Maria Elkins instructions. It's a 4 color monochromatic plan. Maria's website is www.mariaelkins.com. Here's a picture of the one I made.

Charlotte Warr Andersen has a couple of excellent books on portrait quilts. I don't know whether she's been on the board before.

I took a class online at Quilt University by Marilyn Belford called "Realistic Fabric Portraits". Best class, by far, that I've ever taken! She's got one last class at QU before they shut down that starts on October 11th. I HIGHLY recommend it. She even had a lesson on threadpainting, which I did on the eyebrows and mustache! It was a blast, and she's very hands-on with help during the entire run of the class. She's also got a book out that has the instructions here: http://marilynbelford.com/book/

Tartan you are wonderful. I did post on here but it appears to have got lost in the etheanet and was trying to remember this lady. The picture I liked was her granddaughter or daughter.
Does anyone know if the book is out yet and the title please.
