Price of Pfaff QE 4.2

I'm thinking of buying a Pfaff QE 4.2 and wondering what price I could expect to pay. I live 2.5 hours from a dealer of any kind so I can't just drop-in to check out the price. I'll probably go to Longview, TX to buy.

In Phoenix, AZ they vary about $1,899 to $1,999. I got mine for $1,799 on Black Friday 2014. Worth every penny. A price I see on the internet all the time is $2,500. If you do get one, there is an excellent video on youtube.com, all about all it's features and how to use machine. It's over an hour long, but teaches you everything about the machine. I'll try to give you a link http://villagesewing.com.

Thank you, rvsfan. I've watched the videos on villagesewing and they are very helpful.

I don't know the price but are you going to Sharman's in Longview to buy the machine? They are having a big sale through this week.. I don't know if they have that machine on sale though. They have great customer service and are extremely knowledge about what they sell. I go to Sewing Club there and also Block of the Month.

You really have to test drive a machine before even thinking of buying it. It has to work for you just like you test drive a car. Good luck and have fun shopping.

I was looking at the 4.2 because the lady next to me at a quilt retreat had one and raved about it. I ended up with a Pfaff Precision 5.0 because it was on sale at a Creative Sewing show, for the same price as the 4.2's MSRP. I love the machine!! But boy, is there a learning curve! The manual is super helpful, and thank goodness I don't mind reading. I also have the option of going to the dealer for help at any time--but sort of in the same boat--the dealer is more than an hour away. Shall check youtube for any tutes on my model.

The one thing I wish it came with, was some free lessons like I got with my Janome.

My best friend has the 4.2 and loves it. She is always finding new things to do with it. My Bernina 440 does not have the wide stitch ability or the built in walking foot. She is very very happy with it.
