Printers
Hubby's going to buy me a printer for my sewing room for my birthday (1/1). I want to be able to print from my iPad, and it might be nice to be able to print on one of the fabrics made for that purpose.
any thoughts or advice? Thx all. |
Don't get a Lexmark - their ink cartridges are VERY EXPENSIVE - about $35 apiece. At least mine were - got a new HP and they are much cheaper.

Try the HP's, they are usually an excellent machine and their price has come down a great deal since the all in one we bought about 4 years ago.

If you want to print on fabric, get an inkjet, not a laser jet.

I was in the Apple Store last week looking to buy a IPAD so I could print from it in my sewing room..They told me that you can't hook a printer to a IPAD ...now I am confused......

One of the things I've discovered is the way the paper feeds into the printer can make a difference in what you can print on. The straight thru printers work better for lots of things than the U path printers. My U path printer totally refuses to print on onion skin paper. It just eats it.

I just brought a Kodak printer a month ago . My dh and I really like it. I can print from the ipad and iPhone. So far I have only printed pictures. They are great. The kodak printer is very economical to run. Only take 2 or 3 ink cartridges. Most takes 5 different colors or more. I would google and do yr homework. My son just a got hp printer that prints from his iPhone. The key is to get a wifi-wireless printer!

I have an iPad. I am computer challenged but I can email PDFs and pictures to my main computer and have the printer attached to it print them out. You can also send picture/ PDF etc. to a wireless printer? Hopefully someone who is more experienced with the iPad will give you pointers.

I have an HP and a Kodak. Colors are much more accurate on my HP.
