Today I was finishing up a mini quilt swap and had to make a tag for the back. Well I didn't know if this would work but I took my piece of light fabric (yellow) and went to the tags I had saved in my files on line and I ironed that piece of fabric really well then I put it in front of the paper in my printer and made sure it was down good enough and then printed the tag off on the fabric. I had to write out by hand the information on the tag with a pen but by golly the whole thing worked. I was afraid it would get caught but it went thru and you could read what was printed on it. Next time I will spray starch the piece really well first. I am not recommending you all try this but this was FYI.

Warning this will wash off in most cases. I bought some bubble jet set for this purpose. Unless you have the special paper it does wash out. I learned that when I made a label for my friends quilt. I know it looks good at first. If you starch it it may not take as well either, I iron mine onto a piece of freezer paper so it will go through the printer.

Interesting, but I too think it will wash out. Could be wrong. Let us know

Without the bubble jet set and bubble jet rinse it will wash off. I know this from experience. It just slides right off. It has to have the bubble jet for it to have staying power. I buy PFD cottons and soak it first in the bubble jet set and then after it dries I print on it. I let it cure for 24 hours up to a week (the longer it cures the better the ink will stay) and then wash it with the bubble rinse.
