I like Hand Applique needles from Piecemakers. In fact, I prefer Piecemakers needles for most applications. :)

I'm working on a piece now and I'm using Mettler's 60 weight cotton embroidery thread and Jean Lyle's applique needles. I just got the JL needles about a month ago and I'm finding that I really like them, both quilting and applique.
