I was at a quilting retreat this past weekend, and a lady had a ruler type device that marked fabric, then you sew, cut apart, and make half square triangles - a lot at one time. - similar to Thangles - but without the paper. It was called Quick Quarter II Triangle maker. I thought it would be easy enough to find, so I didn't write down any additional information. Well, I can't find it! Can anyone offer any help?

Thanks so much for the help. I'm ordering one tonight. I have a lot of small HST to make, and I hope this will make it quicker, and more accurate.
Thanks again!!

i have one too, love it!..but have just drew the line with a regular ruler lately. so long as my machine is set up with an acurate 1/4", i keep the bar on the 1/4" foot right on the drawn line and sew both sides. they are perfect.
Thangles are wonderful too..i used them for a star quilt, and it turned out great!

I also have a Fons and Porters - I also got it at JoAnn's. I also used a coupon. I also gave the longer one to a neighbor who I am helping learn to quilt. I like the shorter one the best and I don't even do a triangle square without my little "stick". Edie

I have found this ruler to be a great tool for http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-34271-1.htm

I bought a Dritz half-inch ruler that is pretty much for the same thing - is wonderful for marking the sewing line down the diagonal of a square being turned into half square triangles. I found mine at Hancock's on the sewing notions wall, at about half the price of the Quick Quarter.

Way to much work to make one at a time and all that measuring. I prefer Quilt in a Day method for 8 at a time.

Go to the tutorials on rulers and watch the video. It is in the television and video section.
You can do it without the ruler but it is so much faster with it. The ruler is at Joanns so get it with a coupon.
The ruler comes with instructions for all sizes up to 6 1/2 inches. It also has instructions for quarter triangles.
Basically you set the line for the size HST you want on the stitching line and make one cut.
Best part they are perfect every time.

For some reason it is not working. You need to go to the television and video section on the website. It is in the brown line that goes across the screen.

Ok, I got that far, but don't see anything indicating where the tutorial on rulers is. I found several tut's on specifc rulers, which one do I want? Sorry so dull!

I went and looked at my local JoAnns - but couldn't find the ruler. Any suggestions as to where it is located in the store?
Thanks

janRN 02-02-2010 06:55 PM

At our local Joann's the ruler is in the Fons & Porter notions section-it's a separate area from all the other notions. All the F&P gadgets are in one place. Don't know if your Joanne's does this but maybe ask a salesperson if they know (or not LOL).

raspberryparade09 02-02-2010 08:01 PM

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try again.

Rose Marie 02-02-2010 11:12 PM

Go to the triangle square up ruler tutorial. Joanns carries all of Quilt in a Day rulers and with a coupon its not too expensive. They are not in the Fons and Porter section.

nursie76 02-03-2010 05:46 AM

Thanks!

Oklahoma Suzie 02-03-2010 05:55 AM

I have that too.
