Question about new Janome machine

Hello everybody!
I have recently purchased a Janome 1600P-QC and a Grace Gracie Queen frame. The Janome didn't come with a free motion foot. This might sound like a dumb question, but I'm totally inexperienced with a machine/frame. Won't I need a free-motion foot before I can use my machine on the frame??? It didn't come with one. By the way, I LOVE MY NEW MACHINE! I've pieced a quilt with it and fabric moves through it like butter!
Thanks,
Shelia

Yes you will need a free motion foot. I have a Janome 6500 and love it.

My Janome 6600P came with a "darning foot," which I use for FMQ. There was no foot specifically called a "free motion foot." Might that be the problem?

I was cheeky and asked the company I got my janome 1600p, grace frame and sure stitch from for a discount for buying the three items from them. They told me they would throw in the extra feet for the Janome. I got it on monday last week and have not been well enough to sew, Good to hear you are happy with yours. I am going to try piecing on it before quilitng.
