Connection Threads and Thousands of Bolts are my favorites. I have ordered from E Bay and never had a problem.

I've ordered from Keepsakequilting and Connecting threads but they are pugless. My attitude is that if the fabric is important to me, I take the risk. Since you pay with a credit card, if anything goes bad, you can always dispute the charges.

I havent ordered from their website but have purchased at craft fairs from this place www.patchworkfabrics.com.au and I have been more than pleased with their quality and large range. If you cant find someone who ships to New Zealand then you might be in luck with this company as they are in NSW in Australia. Here is also their email address [email protected]. I like to use www.fabricdepot.com. They are located in Portland, Oregon and have a huge selection of good quality fabric. I have bought from them several times online with no problem.

I have yet to have a bad experience ordering online. I love fatquartershop.com, thousandsofbolts.com, and a few others. I'm not on my computer, so I don't have my bookmarks...sorry.

But, I would go for it, and you're more likely to have a positive experience, than bad!!

MadQuilter is correct, in that if you pay by credit card, you are well protected against missing packages.

I'd like to chime in with two thoughts: if you do decide to buy from outside your country, please keep in mind that it can take a long while for international packages to be delivered! From the US to the UK, Japan, or Australia we've heard that it usually takes 2-3 weeks. This is NOT the impression that you get, when you visit the US Post Office's website; they make you think it will arrive in 5-7 days! To Italy and France it takes at least six weeks. And delays are always possible, especially around holiday time. So if buying from overseas, it is very important to plan ahead and allow enough time, and not to panic if your package doesn't arrived right away.

Secondly, if you ever are in the position of disputing a charge, please be kind and contact the seller first, before filing the dispute. This gives them the chance to look up your order and see if they can figure out what happened. It could be something as simple as a typo in the shipping address, or a missing apartment number. It leaves both buyer and seller with a better feeling, if they get a chance to solve the problem between themselves. Call me naive, but I really do believe that most people are honest.

Also - and if you've never had a business, you won't know this - when a customer files a chargeback, the merchant gets hit with a hefty fee. Even if it's resolved in the merchant's favor, the merchant still gets hit with a fee.

PayPal also has buyer protection, too, which works similarly.

I've ordered a ton of fabric from www.equilter.com and have always been happy.

Equilter.com has two fabrics that have pugs on them, but unfortunately on both the pugs are included with numerous other breeds. If you click on the "dog" section, one fabric is the large one at the top and the other is near the end of the second page.

Now I want to make my little Pekingese (his pic is my avatar) a new dog bed. :D

I have tried Connecting Threads, and they don't ship to Ireland. I also tried Thousands of Bolts, as they had loads I wanted. In spite of them telling me they ship overseas to loads of places, their website wouldn't let me pay. I could put in all the order, but then it said it didn't recognise my address. I contacted customer services, who said they would order for me, but four weeks later, I gave up trying.

Hancocks of Paducah do send overseas, and I have had a lot from them, but get a little frustrated with back orders trailing in long after the rest has arrived.
