question about photo quilts

My family wants me to do a photo quilt using photos from our childhood days. I thought I might do an Attic Window pattern. Since the photos are different shapes/sizes, I am wondering what to do for the filler section. Could you help? Links and inspirational pics are welcomed.

I am sure that some of you will have great ideas for me. Thanks for your help.

I would tend to make all the pictures black and white then place them on a black background to go into the attic windows. My attic windows would be made of a very narrow strip of white and a wider strip of red. The white would be on the inside of the window next to the black.

Can you resize your pics??? If not you'll have to play with a layout that will work with different sized blocks or sash each pic out to the same size.

Mine had all different sized photos so I just put different sized borders around them

The best advice I can give you is to use Picasa or another program and make a collage of all the pics you have, and use those! Here is one that I did last month for a friend!

Maybe border the photos with novelty fabrics or things you all did as kids.
