I'm wanting to make a T-shirt quilt and want to know what type of stablizer works best to use on the back of T-shirt material. I want to make large blocks and sash them with cotton quilting material. Any advice will be appreciated.

I use fusible tricot interfacing. I just put the stretch on the interfacing going the opposite of the stretch on the t shirt panel. Is soft and works well for me.:)
|
I have used a non-woven fusible - just a medium wgt
|
I also use the fussible interfaceing work great

I used the fusible tricot and loved the results! The fabric was still nice and soft when done. You just have to make sure you put the stretch in the opposite direction of the way the t-shirts stretch.

stacey is the brand I use.

Just finished a T-shirt quilt, and used Pellon medium weight fusible
interfacing. No problems in machine quilting it as the cotton shirt fabric stays in place. |
this information is good to know. i have both tricot and lightweight woven interfacing.
my tshirt quilt will be non-traditional. i have a lot of tshirt fabrics that i will use, lots of bright colors and stripes, not the traditional logo shirts. |
I always use a lightweight woven fusable interfacing.
