You're probably going to think I am crazy...but my foot pedal makes a noise when I press down (I have a Designer SE). It's almost like it is sinking in. So I usually press to the side and not the center of the foot pedal. Has anyone else experienced this? Also can the foot pedal be replaced?

I have the designer se and have never had a problem with the foot petal, i would check with your dealer, may be more of a problem down the road.

what kind of noise does it make

I have not had any problems with my SE either. I think I also would have it checked.

It's a clunking noise...like when you push something in and then it pops back out. It's almost as if the pedal is not supported on the inside.

I'm sure you can order a new foot pedal from your dealer. It won't be cheap though. Or, you may even be able to get yours repaired.

I haven't had problems with my SE peddle..........however, with my Designer #1 my DH had to repair it after it kept sticking...............calla

I have a Sapphire. When I turn the pedel over I can see inside. The regulator part has a small arc-shaped lever that I can see move when I push down. I can't see any place it might hang up to cause a clicking noise.

The lever is set to one side allowing me some control of the needle speed depending on where I put my foot. To the right directly over the lever is slower than to the left side.

Maybe something shifted inside and it just needs to be adjusted back again.
