If this helps you.....I am trying to remember....I think it might be stitch #15 ? It will have a p by it. (15p). The P is to remind you that that stitch is for peacing. So using your J foot and that stitch, will give you a perfect 1/4" seam allowance from the right side of the J foot. Nothing to catch and the foot covers the feed dogs. Also, Babylock came out with a new 1/4" foot with guide that is wider at the base and covers the feed dogs. It came out last summer at Babylock Tec. Oh choosing that stitch will automaticly move the needle to the correct position and if you need a scant 1/4" seam allowance, just use the width button (this is the one with the zig zag image) and bump the needle one bump to the right.

Hi,

I sew on Babylock machines......I have set my stitch to a scant 1/4 inch and just use my J foot for all my piecing. Not sure about Grace, but does your machine have a preset 1/4 inch setting? I have the 1/4 inch foot with the guide and never used it.
I just line my J foot to the edge of the fabric, set my stitch at 5.5 or 6.0 (scant 1/4) and away I go.
Love my Babylocks!
