I have not even seen the larger ones. I own a 1/4" slot one which I think is just about useless because it tends to wobble. I use the 1/2" one for almost all of my basic cutting. I am on my third one, because they are a bit on the flimsy side. One of my guild sisters commented recently that I have an unusual style of cutting, due to wrist damage. I wrap my fist around the cutter, little finger down. Most rullers are not handy for me. This one is perfect for me, whether I am cutting strips, trimming HSTs or half hexagon units.

I have the one with 1/2 inch slots. I use it all the time, love it! When I want to cut 2 1/2 inch strips, I put tape on it to be sur I use the correct slots. It makes the cutting go faster. I don't have to stop and think where to place my ruler.

I have the large one I really do like it. I also, have seen Eleanor Burns use them a lot. If she uses them, they can't all be bad. I thinks she is so talented. I guess it depends what kind of cutting you do a lot of. Sorry I'm not much help. Happy shopping.

I thought I would like it for cutting 1 1/2" sashing strips--I had a ton to cut. I went back to using my 5 x 24" ruler. I know others love theirs, but thought I'd just let you know of my experience.

When I use mine, I place a piece of masking tape at the end of the slots I want to use, and in that way I don't mistakenly cut in the wrong slot, klutz that I am :-)

I have the smaller one and use is a lot. Use painters tape to mark what slots to cut on.
