My Se 400 will be arriving in a few days. The more I read about machine embroidery, the more confused I get. I sure need some help. When I download PES designs from the internet into a folder on my computer, do I need the PED Brother embroidery software to view the file? Or does the SE 400 come with the necessary software? I have myself so confused, I am probably not wording my question correctly. Help, please. :(

you won't be able to view the actual embroidery file without some sort of software -- my brother pe-780d did NOT come with software.
I would save a copy of the embroidery file's picture (like from the website) along with the embroidery file. This means I would have a .pes file and a .jpeg file with the same name. I could see what the design was with the .jpeg file, and use the .pes file for my machine. I've since purchased embird software - works wonders! |
Looks like with the cable you should be able to download off your compute without problems. You book should tell you how. I have the Brother SE350 And I got the ped basic to write to a card but yours has a computer hook up. Congrats! Nice machine

I just bought a brother embroidery machine too. I found a couple of freeware programs that allow me to view my .pes files.
This is the one I currently am using. I am still looking for a better one that doesn't cost me an arm and a leg. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multime...y-Reader.shtml |
