There is plenty of everything. You will not have a problem.

My DD has lived in Paducah for the past few years and DH has taken me to the show for the past 2 years. She lived about a miles from Hancock's of Paducah but now has bought a house a little ways out of town. But, we still have a free place to stay!!! She and her DH both work for the local newspaper, The Paducah Sun, and there is a rumor around that Eleanor Burns will not have her tent, etc. at the same place as in the past, but will have everything in a nice, air-conditioned place - all under one roof.

Sandygirl on the 24th gave you the best advice - here are a few more things from a "seasoned" Paducah visitor - visit the downtown shops first and miss the morning rush at the convention hall. Take pictures!! Inspiration for future quilts! My biggest lesson learned - budget your money by the day or you will spend it all the first day! I learned to set an 'allowance' for myself per day, that way I can be just as happy on day 3 or 4 as I am on day 1. The downtown stores that aren't quilt stores ALL display quilts - there is sooo much history in this city and the merchants and townspeople are the nicest people you will meet. Walk into any store in town and you will be treated like royalty. Be sure you wander down and take pictures of the Flood Wall behind the Convention Center - the history that is in the artwork on that wall is unbelievable! Carry water, snacks, camera, and wear comfortable shoes. Be prepared to be amazed. Oh, if you don't have reservations yet good luck - you won't probably be staying in Pudacah. My group stays on a house boat 30 miles out on Green Turtle Bay. Fun! (We're from Mn and Ia)

My SIL and I are going to the Paducah show this year for the first time, and we would like to know what the parking, and getting around is like. Can you park in one place and walk from venue to venue, or are they too far apart to walk? And if so, is parking an issue? Do they have a shuttle? Any of you ladies who have been, please give us the scoop! And thanks!

We had a hotel next to Hancocks' of Paducah. There are shuttles going and coming and they are free.
Ask the hotel for a schedule of the runs.

As soon as I get the bowtie tutorial printed up, I'll post a pdf. Can a pdf. file be posted here anywhere...? That might work too if the capability is there. It will probably be sometime the end of next week before I get it all put together.

Yes, a PDF can be posted. You can start a new thread in the Tutorials section. Thanks sooo much for sharing! How nice of you. O can't wait to see it.

Don't forget all of the yummy dinners that the area churches sponsor. The prices are really reasonable and the proceeds all go to good causes. Mom and the YoYos always make a point of going to at least a couple...and they're local. Grace Episcopal even has a tea that is supposed to really be awesome. I'll try to get a schedule of seating times and menus.
