I'm with you, I don't like the blankets and sheets showing under the edge of the quilt. And DH won't tuck in when he makes the bed, which is most days since I leave the house at 4:30 am.

I haven't done it yet but I have a quilt that fits on top of the queen size bed and thought about doing just that...put a dust ruffle on it. Why not? My other thing is I have a quilt top that I want to do that to also but I figured it would be better if the top was quilted first and then basting the skirt on so it has a nice seam on the under side. Someone suggest a serger but this way it can be undone if someone want the quilt a smaller size. So much to do, so little time.

Has anyone taken a quilt top that they have pieced and attached it to a bed skirt? I'm thinking about doing this but want to know if anyone else has done anything like this. If you have, do you have a picture you could post and was it hard to do? Thanks for any information you might have.

I did that to a Biscuit Quilt because I was sick & tired of making 'biscuits'. Looks good on my bed but to my dismay it has to be zero weather for me to use it.

I make sure my quilts are big enough to cover sheet and put a dust ruffle and use a dust ruffle to hide the box springs. You could tuck anything between the mattress & box springs that you don't want to show. Cheap and easy fix.
