I have just recently converted my bonus room into my quilting room and would like to make a quilting board. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what to make one out of it and how big? Do you lean the board on your wall or hang it on the wall....Need your guidance.
Thanks
Cathy

If you are talking about a design wall, you can search and find lots of ideas on this forum. I used insulation board from Lowes and covered it with flannel. Mine is attached but there is no reason you can't just lean it against the wall. One note, take some pins with you to make sure the insulation board is easy to get them in and out of. A friend of mine used board that has a coating on both sides and it is very difficult to put pins in. Mine only had the coating on one side so I made sure I put the flannel on the side without the coating.

I made mine out of a piece of insulation foam board covered with flanel. Its light and easy to hang. I can man-handle it myself, no man required! I can also pin things to it because its foam. The best $10 I have spent in my sewing room.

I use the back of a flannel backed tablecloth, the biggest one I could find. I found it on sale and its the best $6 I ever spent.
