I see ads in many quilt magazines for 'Quilt Cut'. Has anybody used this thing? I think it is a lot cheaper ($200) than the Accuquilt (which I would love to have), but to buy all the dies that I would like will add up quite a bit. It looks like the Quilt Cut only cuts straight cuts. Does anybody know about it?

There is a video on their website to watch that shows you how to use it and what it can do. I have the Quilt Cut 2. It was taking me more time to line up and be precise then using a plain ruler. The mat and board are excellent! In my opinion I would save and buy the GO machine. But watch the video and the Quilt Cut may be just right for you.

I just watched all of their videos, and they did show a dresdan block on one of the pages... However, after cutting the blades, you would have to cut the rounded ends by using another means...

I bought the Alto Quilt Cut a few years ago at International Quilt Festival, I haven't made time to use it and am comtemplating putting it on ebay. I have a daughter who is starting to sew and wondered if it was something I should hang on to. She isn't making quilts yet, but I buy so many gadgets, from special rulers and light boxes and books and never use them, I really need to stop compulsive shopping.
