Do you happen to know what kind of paint was used for the handprints?

I am also a Kindergarten teacher and have used fabric paint to put handprints on the fabric (and footprints once...that was interesting) and it works fabulously. You could piece a center with simple 9 patches or something and then the border the kids' handprints in coordinating colors.
