I haven't heard of this, but it's very interesting.

I desperately need help with my free motion quilting and this looks like an interesting product. I haven't tried it but I do like Sharon Schambers, which goes a long way with me. She has an amazing binding YouTube video where she uses glue instead of pins for attaching binding. Several of my friends have tried it and they love the method. If this circle contraption works as well as her binding trick, I may have to invest in it. Thanks for sharing!

OH, I had a gadget like this about 15 years ago. It was white and open on one side and had handles - It looked kind of like a steering wheel. I liked it for a while. The thing is, you have to have a nice flatbed to work on.

It worked nicely on small projects if you had a big flatbed, though. :-)

I had one of these myself and gave it away. I used it a couple of times and didn't like it. I use MACHINEGERS gloves. They are great! They are white gloves with rubber in the finger tips that hold the fabric.

There are several things out there to use for free motion quilting.

I saw one of these at a class I took. It is actually a pretty heavy circle made of some type of metal and then coated with a rubbery like substance. I could see where it would be very helpful (maybe) for smaller quilts..I just couldn't figure out how it would help me much for larger quilts, but maybe it would...I don't know..but my LQS does carry them :wink:

It does look so wonderful when she's using it doesn't it? I've had those white half hoops hanging on the wall for years, tried them now & again, but the space within the circle is really not very large & I found I had to stop & move the hoop too often. I just use the gloves now.

I have one with the handles and it didnt do much at all.
I use Fons and Porters glue stick to hold my binding on the back before I stitch in the ditch and it works very well. No more gaps where it misses the binding. The glue washes out and so far no gumed up needle.

I have one i bought when I took a class with Sharon Schambers. You do have to have a large extension surface for your machine if you dont have it dropped into a table, for it to work and it does take a lot of practice to get used to working with it. I kind of still like the gloves better.

It looks like you'd have to put too much presser on it to keep it from sliding around for me.
