Quilt Label Help.

What suggestions would you all have for purchaseing pretreated fabric sheets (from JoAnn's) for printing out labels for quilts? Something that is washable and won't dissapear for fade. TIA Tina

I have had pretty good luck with printing on fabric it fades like anything else but not after just one or two washes. I have a HP color printer

I've used Printed Treasures in the past. I have read bad reviews of the June Tailor fabric sheets.

joannes carries a couple books of quilt labels- you iron them onto what ever (pre-washed) fabric you want- then fill in the blanks with a permenent pen- there are many different designs, sizes and styles- the book i bought came with 50 different labels, i think it was about $10...and you can use them a few times before the fade too much.
i've also designed labels on the computer & then printed them on my own muslin-pressed to freezerpaper to go through the printer- much less expensive than the pre-packaged printer fabrics.

i've found that with the iron on label books - they always recommend using only a poly-cotton blend to keep it from fading..i have very little of that ....so i use the books, but use a light box and trace the patterns with a fabric marker - they have inexpensive fine point ones in the laundry aisle at most grocery stores - then you can use colored fabric markers to embellish - or applique over your lines.

I use Printed Treasures. I have tried just printing on regular cotton fabric and the print faded. I like Printed Treasures because it can be laundered.
