When using freezer paper to make quilt labels on the computer, does anyone know if you can use a regular printer instead of a laser printer?

I use my ink-jet.

My understanding is you can only use "regular" inkjet not laser printers for the ink to not wash out.

Ink jet is just fine.

I just had this discussion at my LQS, and you do not use the laser printer for this purpose. Only an inkjet.

I've been using this method for a couple of months now and it works well with my inkjet. Only problem I sometimes have is that the paper is reluctant to fit through the printer, but dropping the fabric down on the paper a little has elimentated the problem so far.

I'd be worried that the fabric and paper would get jammed in the machine! For now, I don't have to worry too much, as I only have a laser printer, so there's no decision! :)

it has been recommended to always use an inkjet printer---laser printers can be damaged by running fabric through it-something about how hot it gets---
i think there are ways to use laser printers but there are different steps involved than using and inkjet and running fabric & freezer paper through

I did this for the first time the other night. I was so afraid the fabric would peel off and be stuck in the printer. I used scotch tape and taped the edges of the fabric to the paper also. Next time I will move the fabric down a little from the end, I had to push it a little to get it to take it. But it printed off great, attached it to the quilt and washed it all. Didn't fade or anything. This was on a ink-jet printer.
