I need to make a quilt for a man. Any suggestions for something masculine? Thanks.

My daughter made a "bricks" quilt with blues, browns and tans and it was just gorgeous and very manly looking. Very simple too. I made one for my brother with deer panels and one for my husband in flannel panels. Plaid flannels are pretty good for a man's quilt too. I made one for my other brother that included flannel from my grandpa's shirts which I inherited after he died.

This Zig Zag quilt is simple and can be masculine.

Search Boxed Squares on this board to see lots of different colorways made by members of this board. I made one using Capuccino bali pops for my adult son and it's very masculine.

It's more about the fabric than the pattern that makes a quilt read "masculin" in my opinion. Darker fabrics, plaids, non-florals.

What are his hobbies...my boys it was dogs and cats..my husband it was music and cats ( I used paw prints)...find out what is likes are and use those patterns....cars, music, outdoors, hunting, fishing or what ever he loves...may love sports,,,my son requested a New england sports quilt. there only request..No flowers....

To me it seems you can use almost any pattern as long as the fabrics are more on the masculine side and colors, prints etc that he likes.

I love the Log Cabin quilt. Just pick manly clors.

i made a quilt for my uncle with deer fabric. you could also use a fishing, camping theme, or if they like a certain football team.

thanks for the link. I've been wanting to make a zig zag quilt but don't like triangles much.
