Quilt a OBW??

I'm a fairly new quilter and just finished my first One Block Wonder. I love it, but I'm not sure how to quilt it. I don't know what I'll end up doing with it. Probably either hang it over the railing in our summer cabin or use it as a lap quilt. Since I'm a new quilter, I'm a little concerned that the seams may not be that sturdy, so I think it needs to be quilted somehow. I think the quilting will be more utilitarian than aesthetic. What do you suggest?

I have quilted them in all the ditches. It makes a nice design on the back and doesn't detract from the design on the front. Your OBW is gorgeous.

You have a beautiful OBW!
What about stippling it all? or an all over meander design?

Here's a link to my OBW ... it;s done with an all over feather sort of a design ...

Gorgeous OBW :)
I have done one with a stitch in the ditch and I did this one with what I call is my spicky stipple, by putting the points in the stipple it give me somewhere to stop and think about which direction to go to next

Those are both so beautiful. The variety in the block coloration is just fascinating to me. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks QuiltE :o , I have posted some pictures of the whole quilt here http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...ml#post5550995, if anyone is interested.

Nuevaquilter, I would love to see the original fabric if you still have some.

all of the ideas are great. my thought is that the quilting should not take away from the beauty of your quilt top... so keeping it simpler is better. i love woody's quilting.

Beautiful quilt...obw is the most fun of all, I think...I have made close to 20....I always use meandering...often with Thread that blends, variegated,....why detract from the fabulous design that magically appears with each completed hexagon and the delight that comes when working on the design wall....The pain comes sewing when sewing the half hexagons together....and that is a small price to pay when the border and binding goes on and the quilt is hanging!

Thank you all for your suggestions, and to those who shared their quilts. I finally decided to FMQ with a different motif on each hexagon. It's busy but I like it. I started to SITD and didn't enjoy doing that at all. So I switched to the method I am most comfortable with.

I am almost done and will post a photo after it's all done.
