HI, Could anyone tell me if you tape down on floor or table the backing,middle,and top of quilt when sandwiching a quilt? Thank You, Lorraine

I'm not real sure, but if I guessed I would suggest taping the backing, then lay batting and then top, and then pin all 3 together. Just trying to help.

This is the way I do mine. And I use blue painter's tape it sticks well enough to keep the backing on the floor but it does not leave all that goo stuck on your floor.

Well, for me, I can't bend over on the floor let alone get back up. So I currently use my dining table. I tape down a section at a time and pin. then I lay it on carpet in the living room to make sure it's straight.

I'm going to make a plywood top for the table, though, so I can do the whole thing at once, or half, at least! Got my plan all ready, just need some good weather to go outside to cut.

Becky you had better put cutter at the end of that rotary. Cause there is a saw that goes around and is nicked name a rotary saw....

:lol: :lol: Actually it is a rotary, with a better handle to grip than my quilting rotary cutter. It's a circular saw and I have two band saws. I used to be able to swing them thar things quite well. Now it takes help from another person. But the gal across the street doesn't know how to use her circular saw so I'm going to teach her while cutting my table top and my floating shelves.
