I am visiting Boston in September for a week and would love to be able to visit a quilt shop while there. Does anyone know of any quilt shops in Boston.

I am from Massachusetts. I don't know of any quilt shops directly in Boston, but there are a few outside of Boston
Franklin-Emma's Quilt Cupboard www.emmasquiltcupboard.com Cambridge-Cambridge Quilt shop www.cambridgequilts.com Arlington-Fabric Corner www.fabriccornerinc.com (this shop is great, they have a great selection of batiks, cottons and specialty fabrics) I have an email out to my guild to see if anybody knows of any others. I will get back to you if I find something out. Sandi |
Hi Sandi
Thank you for your reply. I will have a look at those you mentioned to see how far away they are. Margart |
Emma's Quilt Cupboard is awesome.. I have been there a few times.
You can take the commuter train from South Station and The Franklin train stop is right across the street from the quilt shop. Fun easy way to get there if you dont want to drive. We used to have a really nice one in Quincy, but it closed this spring. There is no quilt shop "in" Boston directly. There is a Fabric Store called Windmill fabric but to me the quality of the fabric is not good. There is also Button Box Quilt Shop in Wellsley Ma that is really nice. Most of the shops Sandi mentioned are public transportation accessable. Mostly Buses. |
Margaret, are you driving or flying in to Boston? I have worked in Boston for 13 years so I know my way around it pretty well :)

Hi QuiltyLisa
Thank you for the information. How long would the train journey take form south station to the franklin stop and thats like a good idea if it is not too long a journey as I am only in Boston for a week. I will be flying to Boston from the UK but will not be driving when there. Do you live in Bost as well as work there. Margaret |
