Typing this from 91 north as we drive to southwestern new hampshire for a week with the in-laws. Any good quilt shops in: western ma, brattleboro, vt or keene, nh? Or exeter nh?

What abt good second hand stores?

And no I am not texting and driving at the same time.

I'll be watching the responses here. DH and I are thinking of spending a long weekend in Stockbridge Mass.

Have a great week, Jillaine!

Moses House quilt shop in Keene NH.

Can you make it to Keepsake Quilting - well worth the trip. They are in Center Harbor NH in the lakes region.

In Chester VT there is a shop called Country Treasures - room after room after room of amazing fabrics - over 8000 bolts! A whole second floor room dedicated to quilters flannel. Wonderful staff. They usually have "firecrakers" this time of year - 20 FQ for $35 I think it's their anniversary sale.

Their website is .... vermontquilting.com

HAVE FUN!

I have been here and believe me, I needed oxygen when I walked into the store. I started hyperventilating - no kidding, it is an AMAZING store, Sue - the owner if just great. I had to come back the next day when I could see clearly.

since you are driving north.
"Notion to Quilt" is at Shelburn Falls, Ma. It is west from Greenville on Rt 2 toward N Adams. just a few miles down the road west. Very nice shop. Osgoods in West Springfield (on Rt 20) is interesting. It is primarily a drapery and upholstery shop but has lots of quilting fabrics and lower price than shops.

Moses House no longer sells fabric; Russ just repairs machines and offers longarm
New England Fabrics in Keene
Quilters Workshop in Newprt,NH - good selection, nice people
Quilted Threads in Henniker, NH - fabulous selection, also nice folks
The Textile Company in Greenfield, Mass- vast collection of fabric
Country Treasures in Chester, VT - huge selection
Southampton Quilts in Southampton, Mass - haven't been there in a while but have always had a good selection
I'm not a Keepsake fan, but if you've never been, worth the trip just for the experience.

There is an independently owned quilt shop that is only open Thursday through Sunday in southwestern NH not far from Shelburne Falls and Keene.

Tried to find the name and location again. Found a partial email exchange that was no help and then accidentally deleted it.

Their email address begins "picfarmdesigns."

Sorry I can't help any better than that.

And in addition to being a interesting shop, Diana Gallagher and her husband are really nice people

There are some great bargains to be had at Osgoods. If you sew clothes, you can probably pick up bolt ends of woolens to make cheap skirts and vests.
