Quilt Shops in Santa Fe and Albuquerque NM??????

I am going to New Mexico next week and have never been there. We will be in Santa Fe, Albuquerque and Taos. If I were to choose some quilt shops in the area, which would you recommend? I am coming from the Boston Area.Thanks.

I was in Albuquerque a few months ago..You need to go to this one..

I drove all over looking for the others but couldn't find them. This was a sweet little shop and the ladies were very nice. And its next door to a Harbor Freight. Which I had never been to before LOTS of goods. =)

When I lived in Albuquerque I liked Quilts from the Heart - 417 Tramway Blvd. NE.

At that time, each of the quilt shops had a directory giving a complete listing of the quilt shops in town. I don't know if they still do that, but it was helpful in locating the shops.

In Albuquerque - Southwest Decoratives and Kokopelli Quilting Co. www.swdecoratives.com I haven't been there in a couple of years, but am sure it's still there. It's off I-25, northern part of town on the way to Santa Fe. First time I was there, we had to buy a extra carry on piece of luggage for the plane trip home.:D

I love this store! They have Michelle Watts fabrics and patterns galore. there is always something interesting there.

I make it a point to stop there when I go to NM.

Hi,
I live in the area and would suggest the following stores:
if you can only visit one - I would visit Southwest Decoratives 5711 Carmel Avenue NE. The will have the most selection of SW fabrics and a good overall variety.
The Quilt Works 11117 Menaul has a good selection and a very friendly staff.
Quilts Ole 4908 Corrales Road - good selection, but might be harder for you to find.

There is a quilt store in Taos, but I have not been to it. It is Taos Adobe Quilting. It is at the plaza area, so that might be easy to see.

Santa Fe does have a quilt store, but it isn't as unique as the others.

I hope you have a great trip.

I just got back from my trip to New Mexico. I loved Southwestern Decoratives Shop!! It was the first stop we made after leaving the airport to travel to Santa Fe. We got there close to closing time but the women there were soooo friendly. They were welcoming and spent quite a bit of time talking to us. I told them how they were referred to me from this board. The quilts on the walls were gorgeous. I bought some locally flavored fabric, a pattern, a store pin and was happy. If you ever got to New Mexico, go to this shop!!!! We also went to the Taos Adobe Quilt Shop. Thought it was a cute shop, located in the Plaza area, I have to say the woman there was cold. She waited on me but was truly not that interested. I was the only one in the store. I bought the store pin, which she did go find for me in the back room. She just seemed that she had more important things to do and was clearly not interested in any type of small talk. We left. I loved New Mexico. It is a beautiful state. Friendly people, lots to do and excellent food!!!
