Few more...

ksusan-I agree with you about taking the photos to inspire me. I've always admired landscape quilts, but just have no idea how to go about starting one. Some day... In quilting there's always room to move and grow. I guess that's the beauty of it. :D

Aww Rebecca--thank you. You're so sweet. :-)

I'm drooling! What great photos. You captured the quilts perfectly, at least from my perspective. You can see all the quilting and embellishments. Some of those quilts, wow, the work and craftsmanship that went into them is incredible.

I'll add a few pictures from my guild's last quilt show. I cannot seem to find the folder with all the shots I took after hours, when no one was there. These are all close ups, mainly because there were soooooo many people going through I couldn't get pictures of the entire quilt. Thankfully I'm patient and still got some good shots, and it helped that there was a room specially set up for the men to retire to when they got tired of walking and needed a break.

I love the movement of color in this one.

Doris does amazing work! This entire quilt was done to showcase her hand applique.

This is all hand applique. The entire quilt was a large queen size.

I loved the one with the birds and the one with the tree...but as for the rest of them....lets just say that I've seen quilts made by the people on this forum, that are much, much nicer!! Sorry but thats just my opinion!

I share your opinion, but I still enjoy the pictures. Going back through them, I love the one of the quilt that copies the picture of the bridge done in soft blues and purples. She did a great job.

Wow--Tiffany--those are amazing!! I just love all the colors on the one Doris did. The others are so much fun top look at--but not as much my style. (No barns. )

Karen--I agree with you. I took pictures to show what was there--but there were very few I loved. The section where the big quilts were had some wonderfully interesting pieces, but that's where we weren't allowed to take pictures. Your favorites are mine too!!

I took some very close ups too--I'll post a few here in case anyone is saying to herself "I'd love to see a close up of that one!"

I am just blown away by the beauty... Thank you both for sharing. It was a great treat.

Many of the quilts are obviously designed from the quilters own imagination with the colours he or she likes. As for prices - when you figure the amount of time it takes to design the quilt, the (hours) spend finding just the right fabrics, preshrinking and cutting the fabrics and then sewing them all together ( and ripping out sometimes), and the skill it takes, the quilter is still probably making less than $5.00 an hour on them . Minimum wage is more than that now.

Enjoyed all the pictures. "Arty" quilts are not my thing but whatever appeals to you. I don't think any of them appeal to me $2,000 worth.

Tiffany, there are some talanted ladie in your guild! wonderful work.

Thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed the varied styles and designs of the art quilts. I love all quilts, but I think the art quilts require talent that most of us do not possess. Remember, the Great Masters weren't famous or appreciated in their time either.
