I am considering after I get the quilt I'm working on done, doing this block/quilt.
My question is, Would it translate into a scrap quilt, or would it need to be repeating fabrics?
Thank you!

I think you can make it scrappy. Just try to keep the same values, dark for dark, lt for lt etc. You could use all the same background fabric to tie it all together or even say all dark blues for the background or something like that. You can do just about anything you want, just keep the values.

I agree with Jim's Gem. Just keep the values the same and you should be good. Good luck!

Wow, this block is way beyond me but I think it would be beautiful in scraps. Of course I think everything is beautiful in scraps. I can't wait to see it when your done.

Emily, I agree with the others. I think it would be a nice scrappy quilt. You will need something to give it some cohesion though, so I would use one fabric for all the background, like Gayle said. Or always use the same color for the triangles, etc. Keeping the same value, like others said is a must. I have also read that you should try to use a fabric at least three times in a scrap quilt~I guess it keeps it from being too random. But, I do not think the quilt police will be knocking on your door and counting!!

Anyway~be sure to post pics~this will be fun to watch!!
