Does everyone quilt all their quilts. or do some of you just keep the tops for when you need one and then quilt it.
I love to make the quilt tops but just don't have enough room to store then when they are quilted...

I just love to make the quilt tops, I have probably 10 in a tote. The quilting part isn't the exciting part for me so I always have a lot of tops unquilted.

I have probably have a dozen tops to quilt, it is the piecing that is my stress release. you are right it is easier to store the top un-quilted.

Every top I make, i quilt. I never have tops sitting around BECAUSE my grandmother has bags full of tops that she never got the time/money to quilt or have quilted, and I don't want all my work to just sit there, not being enjoyed. That's also why I've learned to quilt on my regular sewing machine.

I don't worry about storing my quilts, because I give 90% of what I make away, as gifts or to charity. And I have plenty of storebought blankets that can become "camping blankets" and be stored out in the shed when I need the room in the closet to store my finished quilts. As of yet, though, I don't have any bed-size finished quilts to store. Soon, though.

Most of the ones I have made just because I liked the pattern or the fabric aren't quilted. They take up less storage space that way.

Mine are usually made for someone and get given as soon as done. I've only had one top (twin size) that wasn't quilted. I made it with scraps and didn't know who I was giving it to. My son has since claimed it, so it will be my next project.

I sew tops in the summer and quilt all winter. Unless I need it right now for a gift.

I always work on my quilts to completion, sometimes more than one at a time, but I finish the top then do my own quilting. I have two king size for my bed and several twin size (maybe a bit larger) that are used as lap quilts. Mostly I make quilts and give them as gifts. I have one that I'm finishing binding on, one paper piece in the works and one more I must start this week (for a 50th b day gift)
But I will complete them all. I can't stand to have unfinished projects (abnormal quilter, huh!?)

I wish I had the self-discipline to quilt tops as I finish them. I'm not as good a quilter as I am a piecer so I put it off. Shame on me!

Not shame on you, not only can we not all be the same, who wants to be. I say do what you enjoy! If making tops and setting them aside is what makes you happy, then do it. Don't stress over the whole process, there are so many options of how to quilt, techniques and styles. That's why I say only do what you want when you want. This is fun stuff, life is too short to get worried about quilting. Just enjoy
