I'd love to make a quilt for my own bed (king size). No way I could quilt it on my machine. Don't know of nor could afford a long arm quilter.

The question is - are there any of your favorite patterns that don't end up with the frayed seams like a rag quilt or lots of hand stitching?

Thanks!!!

how about a dissapearing 9 patch, or an irish chain, or make up something simple to showcase a nice print

I got a pattern called "Scrappy Serger Quilts". It's a quilt-as-you-go pattern. It's strips sewn, then cut into blocks, rearranged & sewn into rows. I'm making a king sized one right now for a wedding gift. It's pretty easy & you don't really have to have a serger to do this pattern. After you sew 3 rows together you go back & quilt row 2, then move on with each row & quilt as you go. I usually stitch/quilt about 1/8 inch from the seams. You can adjust the size by changing the size of your blocks or adding rows & more borders. I did a quick google & found it on this site:
