Does anyone know where I can get a pattern for Mary Ann's Star Attraction purse? The pattern is from the early eighties and a Google search gives a picture of the exact purse I'd like to make, but no clue where to get the pattern.

It is a very cool pattern. A fellow sewer at my monthly sewing club had one she made, but all she remembered was the name. If you know of a source I'd sure appreciate it.

Are you on Facebook? I did a google search for her and found that Mary Ann Sheppard is on Facebook - you could send her a message and ask if she is the same one that designed it and if so, does she still sell the pattern...

I also found it here..

I have to say that it's a really cool duffel bag looking thing. I'd be all over it if I had the pattern :) Very sharp.

I think I still have that pattern. Send me a PM and I'll check. If I have it, it's yours

That's a neat pattern! I found a thread that lists the email address on the pattern: MaryAnnsPurse @ aol.com (remove the spaces). You can try to see if it is still valid and maybe she can sell you the pattern directly.

Many thanks, another member found a link for me so I'm set. You are one of the reasons I love this board, the caring and willingness of folks to share their knowledge. It is like asking a family member for something and knowing there is genuine caring in the answer.

Hi, I'm so glad I found this forum!
I've been looking for this pattern. It seems to be sold out on all the sites I've looked at. Can anyone help me find this?
Thank you all so much!

Betty,
Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, they don't have it (or maybe I couldn't find it there). I'll keep looking.
Have you made one of them yet? How did it turn out?
I'm from Colorado - miss it alot!

Betty,
Found it! It looks different, though. I wonder if it's the same as the 1985 one? Is this the pattern you used?

Is it beige with a white star on it? If so that is the one I have. I have to go out, but when I get home I will take a picture of the pattern I have so you can see. Also have an idea of where I might be able to lay my hands on a pattern for you if the one you got isn't the original.

No I haven't made it yet, but am anxious to do so. Saw one at my sewing class that a very talented woman had made. That was what sent me on the hunt for the pattern.

After I sent you the link to the Dollhouse I got to looking around and bought four new patterns which I need like a hole in my head, but they have some very cute stuff from days gone by.

We've lived here 34 years and I wouldn't leave Colorado for anything in this world.

Betty
