Quilting a bear paw pattern? help!
3 Attachment(s)
Hi everyone,
I am going to quilt a bear paw pattern quilt and it has 12" blocks with 4 small bear paws in each one...I am doing a stitch in the ditch...Each block has a sashing around it that I am using a stencil to do a vine & leaf pattern on as well...my question is: The 12" blocks are different colors, half are blue & half are burgandy and the sashing around each of them is peach color...I am using peach color thread for the sashing vines & leaves...and I am using blue thread in the blue blocks and burgundy thread in the burgundy blocks.... So how should I do this since I have to change thread so many times? Do all my blue thread on the whole quilt, then burgundy thread, then peach thread? Or do I just change thread as I go along my frame and come to the next color blocks? I have attached a picture of part of the quilt. Thanks! I think I would look for a varigated thread that has blue/burgundy/pale blue/pale pink and use that. If you wanted one main colour I would probably try a medium grey.

I agree with Tartan. Lovely quilt!

If you really like the idea of different threads, I would change threads as I moved through the quilt.
