I bought a pin years back that states "I have a weakness, I must confess it. I buy fabric just to possess it."

She who dies with the most fabric did not make enough quilts.
|
Someone gave me a FQ with quilting related sayings.
"Is a nine patch part of a twelve step program?" "Quilters know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em" "She who dyes the most fabric wins" "A quilt on the bed is worth two in the head" |
Thank you for all your advice etc...will be looking at all possible sites

I hate to be a nit-picker, but embroidery is a noun, the name of the process. Embroider is a verb and that is what you want to do to the fabric. May I say that you are not the only one who uses the term this way, either. Another of my pet peeves is "boarder" for border. A boarder is someone who pays to live in your home; border is the finishing edge on something: quilt, wall paper, or pictures. Please don't be offended by my comments; I just like to set the record straight.

Grammar Police almost as bad as Quilt Police.

When I was studying linguistics at university, a very dear professor of mine who was teaching an advanced class for students thinking of grad school said the following: "linguistics is wonderful but it could be detrimental to your social life. From now on you will pay no attention to what people have to say, but rather how they say it".
Brilliant! |

I appreciate Carolynjo's comment. I don't know what saying she was talking about but I do like to learn and or keep up with grammar and spelling, etc. It is not easy for me.

I like to learn as well because I'm a fairly poor speller, but to correct people in public is ill mannered.

Here is one for you, if you plan to put buttons or use button fabric on your quilt.
"Press button for maid service. If no one answers do it yourself." Valleyquilter |
I love the "Press button for maid service." I should make a bunch of mini quilts and post those all over my house.
|
Is there a way to get these sayings printed. Neat sayings but I can't write them all down.
|
Is there a way to print this?

To every one else, relax..... Is the lady who whispers to you telling you your skirt is tucked into your panties a fashion police? It ain't too late to learn, unless your dead. |
I've always liked, "She who dies with the most fabric didn't sew fast enough." ANother good one is, "A bad day quilting is better than a good day working."
|
This is good. :)
