Hello All,

I'm a recently converted knitter-turned-quilter. I used to attend a weekly knitting group and was wondering if there is something similar for quilters. I live in the South Bay but would be willing to drive a bit.

Thanks!

Hi Kryssa. I live in Pleasant Hill, and I quilt at my LQS where they have regular sew dates...groups get together. I know there's Eddie's Quilting Bee in Sunnyvale, and there are others...you can check to see what they have.

I was in Concord last June altering uniforms for the Blue Devils Drum Corps. My son was marching. It was really pretty but I wish I would have been able to explore some of the shops in the area. I was kept really busy.

Welcome! Check out Eddies Quilting Bee in Sunnyvale. They have classes, also a UFO night where people just come in and work on their projects and visit with each other and surely youcould find a group from there. There is one in Morgan Hill that someone from SJ told me about check the user list and san jose or SJ and pm everyone.

I belonged to one in Tracy years ago. I think it still exists. There are two girls on the board from Tracy that can help you.

I'm familiar with the Blue Devils, quite popular!! Next time you come this way, give me a heads up and perhaps I'll be free to show you some of the shops. There are 4 right here - 1 in Danville, 1 in Concord, 1 in Lafayette (my fav!!) and 1 in Martinez. then there is one also in Berkeley and Alameda, but those are too far for regular visits!!

DS aged out last summer so he will not be able to march again but I may be out there to alter uniforms again. They are quite a remarkable bunch of young people. To think they PAY to kill themselves!!! However, the music is incredible. Thanks for the offer to show me around. I'll keep it in mind if I'm back out there.

What about the Amador Valley Quilters in Livermore and Pleasanton. I use to belong to them. It is the guild Alex Anderson belongs to.

I think I need to move, sounds like lots of great groups there.
