Quilting with Horizon Link
 

I have a horizon 12000 and have only used the Horizon link software to embroider. Janome has a quilting kit, which I am saving my pennies for and in the meantime I noticed that the machine has built in quilting designs. I am wondering if I can use these designs with one of the hoops that came with the machine for a table runner or do I need the $500 quilting kit! Maybe I should practice my FMQ instead. Lol thanks

I also have the 12000 with horizon link. You can quilt with the hoops it came with, but, once you gat the accufil hoop you won't look back. It is so easy to hoop your quilt with the magnets instead of trying to put the regular hoop together. I made a quilt without the accufil hoop and several since with it. There is no comparison. Good luck saving your pennies and maybe you'll get one soon.

Misty mom thank-you for your reply! The accufil hoop and software is on my christmas list....for now I will give it a try with my largest hoop. Thank- you again.

I forgot to add this is pretty much the only hoop I use, if I can get away with it :)

And, with the new 15000 released which included the Acufil, the Acufil prices for the 12000 should come down!

What is accufil

Accufil is a software program for Janome's Horizon 12000 that is designed for quilting and comes with a mega hoop. The software allows you to automate quilting b calculating how much stipling is required in addition to making templates. Check out you tube videos. ..pretty interesting.
