Quilting Labels
Hi,
Could you please help me with information on buying/making labels for my quilt? Thanks, Mary Beth |
There are several members here who do that. Also if you go up to the search box and type in labels or quilt labels I bet you'll find something and someone who could help.

There are many ways to make labels. I usually use EQ7 to design the label, then print it on sheets in a package sold by Printed Treasures, which I buy at JoAnn's.
http://www.google.com/products/catal...ed=0CHIQ8wIwBQ# Sometimes I use the embroidery machine to make labels instead. You can also use a permanent marking pen to hand letter your labels. Lots of options, depending on what you have on hand and what you like to do. |
Other possibilities ... you can buy fabric with pre-printed label "frames" that come in many different designs. then either stitch or write what you want inside the frame.

ONe note on printed labels. I have discovered that these can fade if you are putting one on a quilt that will be washed. There are things to do to help that problem, some solution you can use, that I forget the name of and also using snuggle to treat them...but again - I don't have the instructions for that. I would also "google" making labels and I bet there are instructions or videos about it.

Sewnsewr makes awesome labels and awesome prices... PM her..

I make mine on my embroidery machine. I have also bought some from a quilt shop that are really cute and just put my name on them wiht a laundry marker that won't wash out. I really prefer the ones I make on the embroidery machine and you can buy the designs from Embroidery Library and other embroidery places.

Thanks for starting this thread - I've been meaning to try some on my machine or have some made by QB members.
