I'm looking for an inexpensive good book or software that contains quilting patterns that I can transfer to my quilt top to machine quilt. (Not block patterns)

Any recommentations for an inexpensive good book or software with a wide variety?

I bought a cd from EQ but you do not have to have EQ(and I don't) to use it. I think it has about 300 or so designs but what I like most is that you can print them out for any size block you want, not just the one they had in mind, like with a stencil. I paid about 20-25$ can't remember for sure but I feel like it's worth it.

I've bought several quilting pattern books off of ebay. Books there tend to go cheap. I got 1 of Helen's quilting designs for 3 bucks.

American Quilters Society also has several books available...more costly, but you can look on line. Google American Quilters.

Are you talking machine quilting? I have "follow-the-line quilting designs, full size patterns for blocks and borders by Mary Covey. the sheets are loose. You just lay them out and follow them with the laser beam on your quilt frame. or you could trace them onto the quilt.

I also have a regular book called Quilting Dot to Dot, patterns for Today's Machine Quilter by Cheryl Barnes. But of the two, the first has more applications.

The first was $24.00 and the second $25. Not cheap but I used the 40% off at JoAnns. look at Amazon.com. Everything is cheaper there if you don't have to pay postage.

hi dreaming, i have been off the computer for a few days due to an ice storm so just now saw your post. my favorite way to try out quilt books is go to the library. check out a big old stack, peruse at my leisure, then decide which ones i may want to purchase. save myself a lot of money that way. i have also found several at garage sales. mostly older ones but i have gotten inspiration from them. you just never knowl

The library is my friend. We are lucky to have a top notch library system where I live. Books are transferred from one branch to another with just a few clicks of the mouse. So, I was actually planning to use some of the titles others have suggested to see if they were in our local library system, then I was going to check the used book stores.
