Am using #40 hand quilting thread to piece my quilt. Is there anything else I should use for the quilting? Would like to use a color other than white.

Any suggestions?

There's a whole world of thread out there.

http://www.redrockthreads.com/

That should get you started.

Thanks for the info. I'll start checking out different threads and decide whether I want a hand quilting thread or one that is primarily used for machine quilting. Will depend on what colors I find and what does best with my quilt.

Heavens! By all means use white thread on white fabric, but if the fabric is a print or a solid color other than white, Try laying out different color threads on your quilt top, then pick something to compliment your top. Do you want the quilting to "pop" - use a darker thread color than the fabric. Matching the thread color to the fabric will let the eye see the quilting texture more than the quilting stitches. Have fun and try different threads. You may even want to use several different colors of thread on your top.

My quilt is a krazy quilt with lots of warm colors. May look at several different colors and use them all in the quilt. Thanks for the info.
