Quilting use for silverware organizer
Does anyone else use a drawer organizer for quilting? I have one on a small bench right next to my chair/sewing machine. It's a very small mesh but metal. I have all of my small, quilting/sewing items in it (such as seam rippers, small scissors, bodkin, small metal rulers, point turners, extra bobbins for current project, needles for current project, oil, fray check, etc... Everything is at my finger tips when I go to sew.

That sound like a great idea.

i use one at my quilting frame, when doing a smaller quilt, the organizer can sit on curtain rods over the poles.

Someone once posted using a silverware organizer to store log cabin strips.
I use alot of plastic ware from the DollarTree store for storage. All my fats are stored in plastic baskets by color. I have several metal pencil holders to store long narrow stuff in. Small plastic waste basket next to my sewing machine for loose threads. |
Cool idea!

my sewing center was made at home and so the easiest way to get the machine surface level with the table was TWO shelves, one for the machine to sit on and one with the cut out that wrapped around the machine (at machine sewing surface height)...this left two open air spaces on either side of the machine which has held silverware organizers on each side for almost 40 years... they slide out like little drawers and all the way out when necessary... my sewing center came in the house the day i turned 29 and i just turned 66! It still has the same plastic organizers, too... I just put them in the dishwasher every couple of years and clean out the junk from the drawers while washing...lol
