The theme of my local quilt fair is Quilts of the Wild West. Any ideas. I was thinking of wild horses but would love to hear any thoughts anyone wants to share.

How about cowboy boots and hats?

I don't have any ideas - but I LOVE that theme. I wanna make a cowboy quilt! ;)

Of course horses, but also cowboys, indians, teepees, wagon trains, pioneer women in calico dresses, miners, donkeys, cattle, rocks, mountains ...

There are actual quilt blocks named during the pioneer times such as Rocky Road to Kansas. I'd do some research and perhaps do small sampler with pioneer era blocks. Remember at one time even Indiana, Illinios and Iowa were considered the "Wild Wild West". :D

Okay this is a topic that will tie into my trip in September!! I would love to see some of the pioneer blocks that were used during these times!

I am going to be buying fabric from all of my stops and different states I am going to I would love to make a couple of quilts to be able to remember my trip by.
