I am wondering if any one on here has ever considered or purchased the Wrights Simplicity Strip cutter. Today is the first time I have really taken the time to check it out. it looks interesting to me because I have a bad shoulder and it bothers me mostly when I cut strips, so this caught my eye. So I am curious to know if any one here has used one and their opinion. That would be cheaper the the Accucut.

Pickle I can see how someone with bad shoulders would get good use out of it. What is the price of the one you saw? I got mine at Joanns when it was on sale. I don't use mine so I am thinking about getting rid of it. Too bad you leave so far away. BrendaK |
The Simplicity Strip Cutter seems to get universally poor reviews, both here and elsewhere. It is hard to achieve the accuracy required for quilting. I'm thinking it would be better for things like rag rugs, corded bowls and totes, etc. that don't require a lot of accuracy.
Maybe Sizzix has a die-cutting machine that is electrical (so you don't have to crank)? Accuquilt and Sizzix both cut very accurate strips. |
It may be cheaper than the accuquilt but it can't do as much as the accuquilt can do. It makes it so nice to cut strips with the Accuquilt; and it's fast but then I also have other dies too. I could never do without the ragquilt cutter; makes my life so much eaiser.

I have been told that it is poor quality by a couple of people.

After checking it out more fully. I feel the guarantee is not good or the reviews I read on line do not sound to good either. It was just a thought and now I don't think it was a good one.LOL Maybe I will consider the Accucut again it is a bit pricey, I wish you could just by the things you want and not have to take whet they include.
