any ideas on getting the paper of the back of the sample fabrics. I can get bits and pieces off but the main part is still sticking? thanks

or
with stamps we stick them in the freezer and then the adhesive lifts right off???

hmmm, i want to know this too, i can usually peel at least part of it off while I'm watching tv, but some of it is just stubborn!

I think your best bet is to soak them in some water .. if the glue is not water soluable it will only be a bigger issue down the road.

Would a warm iron make it soft so you could remove it?

For those samples that refuse to part with the glued on paper strips, we use the cloth part, too much trouble trying to get it all off on some of them. We have made quilts out of the fabric, large and smaller pieces and gave them away to charity. Even pieced some of the larger ones for backings. Wear like iron and cheap when you get them free.
Just cut off the parts where the paper won't come off and save your time, water don't seem to remove the glue.

First try to just peel it off. A fair number of the ones I have will come off. If not, remove the page from the book & microwave it for like 10 - 20 - 30 seconds. You will need to experiment a bit. This usually will heat the glue a bit and you can peel the paper right off. Stand right there & don't walk away. Use tweezers. Be careful!
Here's a pic of the best staple remover to get the books apart. It's a swingline.

glue is an adhesive..and even if you get the paper off, the chemical residue from that glue is still in the fibers of the fabric...why bother..cut it all off and toss it out!

Water works for me, except for freezer paper. That is best done with tiny stitches.

thanks for the tip
