Recommend small iron for applique and iron smal HST's
I want to take advantage of the 50% off quilting notions at Joanne's. This includes the small irons. Any recommendations for applique and ironing 2" half square triangles?

I like my clover mini iron II haven't used it for applique but it has several tips that can be interchanged, I used it for foil, and angelina on a quilt, It does get really hot so you have to be careful. I'm sure it works for applique, thats what I originally got it for

I agree, Clover mini.

I also use the Clover mini for my applique. It does have a heat adjustment wheel on it. When I first got it, I just turned it all the way up and ended up scorching my fabric!

I used to use the Clover but I kept burning myself on it! I purchased the Dritz Petite Press mini iron, it was on the notions wall at 50% off. I LOVE this iron. It has 4 temperature settings, an adjustable head, a stand to keep it off the table, and an automatic shut-off, which I love because it doesn't shut off as fast as my regular iron does.

Oh, good, I've been wondering about that one! Thanks!
One of my Clover mini irons is already showing signs of burning out - after only one applique quilt! |
I applique' all the time. I have one of the little clover irons and it's ok but I prefer my new Rowenta "First Class" iron. It works GREAT! It's small and light weight and can also be used with steam if wanted. Great to take to classes as well. This is a personal opinion so good luck with picking one.
