Remember Quillows?

I'm making a quillow for a friend for Christmas. I'm wanting to put the blocks on point, and have lost my instructions. I'm kinda winging it here, on how to make this thing. HELP!!!! please :)

Wish I could help, but someone here will know. One of my friends was talking about Quillows this weekend, and I just had to look to see what was being said about them. :)

I have never done one with the blocks on point. I usually tried to do my blocks about the same size as the pillow part I put on the back. I could attach the pillow square through all the layers and the seam would end up on the sashing of the front blocks. I would do 3 blocks wide and 4 blocks long. What part are you having trouble with? You can do it any size you want as long as you can fold it in thirds to go into the pillow square.

Hoffman California has several quillow patterns on their website:

I remember them well. But, I have never made one before. Good luck. I think they are neat!

I made some several years ago. I made one for my mother to use when she needed something when she was waching TV. She never got the hang of folding and stuffing it but she did use to for a cover when watching TV.

My first quilt was a quillow (made from corduroy). Not sure what putting blocks on point has to do with it. Figure out your overall dimensions - your length should be about 4x the length of the pillow, and width should be 3x. Then make quilt, attach sleeve, fold and stuff :) I'm sure some of the provided links have decent instructions.

Can't help with the "on point" part. They do made nice graduation gifts. My granddaughter took hers to college. I have had to make her another one as the first one bit the dust.
